Website guide

A website we can
keep building.

This guide keeps track of what we have learned while shaping our website. We want anyone who joins us to be able to understand it, care for it and keep building with us. You do not need a technical background: underlined terms lead to our dictionary.

Give shape to what we want to share

An entry can begin with just a few words. The editor lets us add images, find the right order for a story and review it before opening it to others.

From a first thought to a published entry

  1. Open Blog or Initiatives and choose Add or edit. Sign in if needed.
  2. Write a title, author and summary that invite people to read on. Choose the language you are writing in, or automatic detection if it is not listed.
  3. Select a cover for Home and the listings. Decide whether to show it inside the publication too.
  4. Add text and image blocks and move them into the order you want. Adjust alignment and sizes; use bold, italics, underline, colour, highlighting and links. The typeface stays consistent with roscaille.
  5. Review both the card and article previews. Save a draft to return to later, or publish when it is ready to share.

Every image has a place

The cover and images within the article are chosen separately. Replacing the cover does not replace photographs in the story. If an image looks blurry or too large, check its file and editor size before replacing it. A useful description also helps people who cannot see it.

When we share a project or event

Initiatives can show whether something is an initiative or event, its status and its area of work. Schedules bring dates and times together; links, forms and calendars offer ways to join. Check the time zone and every link before publishing.

Return to something we have already shared

Editing keeps the entry’s address. If someone saved a newer change while you were working, the editor asks you to review it before overwriting. Return an entry to draft to remove it from public view. Deletion applies to drafts, so first consider what you want to keep.
